
Hi, I’m Malavika.
Among other things, I’m a product designer and an occasional artist.
My work is steeped in research, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to intuitive design. I hold a soft corner for slow brewed coffee, and the written word.
I graduated with my Bachelors in Design from MIT Institute of Design, Pune, with a focus on User Experience Design. My projects explored Education, Psychology, Finance, Game Design, Sustainability and more, culminating with my Graduation project internship, centred on explorations for the the Microsoft Edge browser. Currently, i work at the intersection of Voice UX, Ai and healthcare at Suki.ai

Graduation Project
Microsoft IDC, 2022
Performed early research and design explorations to propose a framework centered on Delighters in the Microsoft Edge browser. An extremely exploratory and iterative project including social psychology, strategy, concept validation, and pitching to leadership.

Team Leadership & Digital Strategy
Seekh, 2021
Organized events and managed finances for the student-driven body at MITID, enabling a complete digital shift during the Pandemic. Enhanced online community formation, launched a weekly newsletter, streamlined communications, leading to revenue increase of over 100%.

Call it - Card Game design
WeUnlearn, 2020
Researched, designed, and produced 500 units of an investor-backed card game for 8-14 year-olds, promoting the unlearning of gender roles. The game was inspired by Multi-classification research by RS Bigler and LS Liben. Then, orchestrated a social media campaign to market to a following of over 22K.

Train2Teach - Product Design
Global Goals Hackathon, 2021
Founded Train2Teach, a support and tracking app solution for education centric NGOs in India, spearheading product design and management with a multi-disciplinary team. Emerged winners of the Global Goals Hackathon, 2021, and received £10,000 in seed funding.

Sustainability Education
The UnSchool of Disruptive Design, 2021
Interned for 2 months, learning the Disruptive Design Method that combines deep problem loving, systems thinking and creative problem solving as applied tools of contributing to positive change. Supported community building, design and future brainstorming, while understanding the Circular Economy and Systems.
